Sub-alpine Larch

Previous <     > Next

In early fall, look up to the treeline in Yoho Park to see gold patches of sub-alpine larch. The needles turn this colour as their green chlorophyll moves out, exposing the remaining yellow pigments.
This image has patterns - from both the branches and from the different stages of needle yellowing.
