Bugaboo Stonehenge

Snowpatch Spire and Bugaboo Spire provide a dramatic backdrop for this tarn in the core area of Bugaboo Provincial Park. I had visualized this image the previous day, attracted by the serene feeling that the Stonehenge-like rock circle gave the scene. Early the next morning, hoping for clear skies, warm light, and placid water, I arrived at the tarn and worked quickly to frame the rock circle amidst the peaks and their reflection.
Being engaged in the process of image taking, at first I didn’t notice the climbers making their way along the snow on the left. Within minutes, I made a number of almost identical images that were taken with the climbers in the image, or just after they passed by. As such, prints of this image can be ordered either with or without the climbers.
